'Plants of the Canary Islands' |
|
| The location, origins and
topography influence the plants grown in the Canary Islands.
Horticulture still makes a very important contribution to the Islands'
economy, though not without changing scale and methods of
production. Of particular importance is the collection and
storage of water.
The Canaries are particularly rich in indigenous plant species in varied habitats, but also have a wealth of introduced varieties. |
